Jennifer Walker Gates

Jennifer’s practice is centered on family-based immigration and visas for survivors of crime and domestic violence. She has extensive experience with complex immigration matters including federal appeals and litigation, habeas corpus, mandamus, and unreasonable delay cases under the Administrative Procedures Act, waivers of inadmissibility, and complex naturalization.

Since 2014, Jennifer has been Certified as an Immigration Law Expert by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She is a frequent speaker and presenter for the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the State Bar of Texas, and the University of Texas Continuing Legal Education program. She proudly serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for American Gateways, a nationally-recognized non-profit serving immigrants and refugees throughout Central Texas. In recognition of her work as President of the American Gateways Board, the City of Austin designated February 22, 2017 as Jennifer Walker Gates Day.

Jennifer is a proud volunteer with the Texas Lawyers Assistance Program (TLAP). She relishes the opportunity to work with other attorneys and professionals in pursuing the joy and excitement of recovery and vigorous mental health.
In addition to her legal expertise, Jennifer is also dedicated to her coaching and consulting practice, which focuses on supporting leaders and those in recovery. Through this work, she leverages her extensive experience to help clients navigate professional challenges, fostering growth towards greater success and personal fulfillment.
