Diego is a graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Liberal Arts and the University of Minnesota Law School. His career as an immigrant advocate began in June of 2000. He worked as an accredited representative at the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota and continued in law school as student director of the immigration law clinic. Diego has worked exclusively in immigration law since earning his law degree and has practiced in Austin since 2008.
Diego has extensive experience representing clients in appeals, citizenship and naturalization, deportation defense, family immigration, ICE detention, and inadmissibility waivers. He also advises immigrants and defense attorneys on the potential consequences of criminal offenses. Diego has been honored to represent a broad spectrum of clients ranging from asylum seekers and immigrant families to artists and investors. This has broadened his understanding of each client’s unique needs and how to serve them best.
Diego has been admitted to the State Bars of Texas (2011) and Minnesota (2007). He is fluent in Spanish. He is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
